Dateline: Oxford, Miss., Sept. 26, 2008
Here's a quick update on all things happening here.
First, the debates will go on. I spoke to the daughter of the barber who is scheduled to cut John McCain's hair this afternoon, and political handlers told Larry the Barber that McCain has “no intention” of cancelling his appointment.
Oxford is a beautiful small city. It's a college town, where Ole Miss is the key fixture. It's charming, with a slow pace. The Oxford Square has been bustling with the anticipation of the debates tonight. I made it there yesterday and witnessed a slice of Americana like I've never seen before.
I am here to promote PMQ Pizza Magazine and it's election-based website, www.Pizza2008.com.
It is going well. We've had success putting a release out on Business Wire, with p;ickup by WSJ, the Boston Globe, Financial Times, CNBC and the venerable Oxford Eagle. I won't bore you with that.
I came here by Greyhound after my car broke down in Mansfield, Ohio. I got the estimate yesterday, and suspect the car place is trying to gouge me. A second estimate is advisable, and I'll need to wait until Monday. Lots to do til then.
