A Norman Rockwell moment!
Magnolia seems pretty certain that the turkey is for her!
This is one of my favorite photos ever.
I guess this makes me the Lone Ranger. At the most, this intersection sees a dozen cars all day.
High desert sunrise, Jan. 10, 2010.
High desert sunset, Jan. 8, 2010. The one the following night was the most spectacular I ever saw, but I was hiking without my camera.
My cousin, Paul Janowski, hiking uphill. Yes, part of the trail is snow covered. More snow predicted later this week.
Cactus at the start of our hike.

New growth on a spiky cactus.

Looks like aloe, but it's different. a "century tree" sprouts from these every so many years and grows to 6-8 feet tall.

Cousin Paul checks the GPS at the highest point — 5,836 feet!

The Arizona climate is agreeing with me. A little bit of sunburn to take away the pasty white New York State complexion!

The Alligator Juniper tree has a unique bark, but hardly any bite. Take note: More wrinkles than the previous photo.

I can see Flagstaff from here! That's about 80 miles away, as the crow flies Northeast.
I'm fascinated by the rocks. Here's one with lichen.
Paul and me. He's one of the kindest people I've ever met, and I'm proud to be a relative! He still ahs most of his hair, too!
And where was Frog Angel in all of this? FA is making new friends, too!
